About Us

Founded originally in 1981 by Mike Colella, Colella Photography specialized in advertising, corporate and wedding photography for the greater Washington metro area for over 30 years. Then in 2012, joined by his son Shane, who had over 15 years of agency experience with digital marketing, rich media development and film-making, they decided to form Colella Digital to provide a boutique full-service digital media package to their clients. With over 45 years of combined media production experience located just outside of Washington, D.C., our tight-knit, specialized team of professionals delivers expected agency results, at a fraction of their cost. An honest family business that ensures quality, commitment and beautiful imagery.

Motion Pictures

Colella Digital's film and video arm is led by Shane Michael Colella. He has been working in the field for well over 15 years as a cinematographer, director, editor, motion graphics designer and rich media developer. Shane has worked on several nationally syndicated commercials, countless corporate digital and print campaigns and a variety of development projects from large to small. Shane formed Colella Digital with his father and a close team of production assistants and editors in 2012. Before spending 5 years in D.C., as the Senior Director of Rich Media, Shane was the Director of Internet Marketing for A.V.Imports, an international wine and spirits import company. From 2004-2007 Shane led a host of marketing campaigns for several wine brands, most notably, Luna di Luna. Prior to the position at A.V. Imports, Shane was the managing partner of his own web development firm holding positions as creative director, rich media developer and photographer, for more than 8 years. At Colella Digital, we are capable of handling all sized media productions from quick turn-around, one person, on-site interviews to full-blown concepts, casting, shooting and editing original film productions. We have extensive experience with motion graphics (2D and 3D) animations as well as custom sound production and scoring.
